A realistic doll places enormous stress on its internal frame.
Every pose, every movement and every time the doll is lifted transfers force through the skeleton. Over thousands of movements, even small engineering differences become significant.
A well-designed skeleton should offer:
- Smooth, controlled movement
- Excellent pose stability
- Natural joint articulation
- Long-term durability
- Strong welding and reinforcement
- Comfortable posing without excessive force
Poorly designed skeletons often develop problems such as:
- Broken finger wires
- Loose joints that won’t hold a pose
- Hips that become excessively tight before eventually breaking
- Thin metal tubing collapsing under load
- Wire protruding through fingers
- Broken welds
- Arms or legs that no longer articulate correctly
Many of these failures don’t happen overnight—they develop gradually as repeated force is applied to weaker components.
