Materials & Build Quality

WM's material range runs three tiers: standard TPE, the enhanced STPE upgrade, and Ultra Soft TPE at the top for buyers who want maximum softness. We won't pretend to know exactly what the ‘S’ in STPE was originally meant to stand for, WM has never been consistent about it, but the formulation itself is real: it's noticeably softer and more elastic than standard TPE, and it's one of the most requested upgrades we sell.

Choosing between TPE and silicone, including WM's own Angel Kiss line, comes down to what you're prioritising. Silicone cleans up more easily because it's non-porous and dries faster, holds paint longer because the colour is sealed rather than surface-applied, and needs less ongoing maintenance since it doesn't require oiling. TPE's trade-off is that it stains more easily and takes a little longer to dry after cleaning, though it no longer needs the regular oiling that older TPE dolls once did. Both materials still need occasional powdering.

What TPE does better is feel: the jiggle, bounce and softness of a good TPE doll, especially on curvier bodies, still isn't fully matched by silicone.
