A brief explanation of all the custom sex doll options to help you build your perfect love doll.
Before You Start: Silicone vs TPE
One of the most important decisions you’ll make isn’t a custom option — it’s the material.
Silicone and TPE dolls differ in realism, maintenance, weight, and available features (like gel butt and standing feet without bolts).

Once you're clear on your material of choice, one of the first decisions you'll make is whether or not to have her "Custom made" or "Same as photo".
Selecting the 'Same as photo' options mean just that.
Your doll will be made to look just like she does in the photos, wig, eyes, skin tone... The lot. This is what is commonly referred to as a pre-configured sex doll.
You will be asked to select which vagina option you want, and which foot option you would like. This is just to make sure you get exactly what you want, and to avoid any disappointment. (It can be hard to tell if the doll has a fixed or insert vagina from the photos, so we give you the opportunity to tell us exactly what you want.)
Selecting the 'Custom made' option means you get to choose all the little details yourself and swap out any bits you don't like. See below for a brief explanation of all the core custom sex doll options available, and what each one means...
What do all the options actually mean?
Body:
The body refers to the model number and often includes the height, breast size and manufacture of the doll.
Example - WM166C. The Brand is WM, the height is 166cm, and the breast cup is C.
When viewing a pre-configured sex doll, the body is pre-selected. To change the body, search through our sex dolls here, and select a doll with a body that you like. Doll's come in all different shapes and sizes.
Almost any body-shape imaginable is available.
Head:
All heads have a specific name or number (depending on the manufacturer). Most manufacturers give their doll's head a number, some manufacturers give them names.
The head name or number can be found in the doll's description.
Heads are not connected permanently to the doll's body (unless purchasing a Piper or other 'seamless' or All In One (AIO) doll) and can be removed or changed at any time.
All heads can be made to look very different depending on make-up, eye colour and wig choice.

Skin:
- Skin or skin tone refers to the doll's head and/or body colour.
- Each manufacturer has unique skin colour options, each with a specific name.
- Most manufacturers have a variety of skin tones ranging from white, natural, pink, light tan, tanned & cocoa.
- The most popular sex doll skin tones are "Tanned" and "Light Tan".

Q: Why does the same skin tone look different between dolls?
Skin tone can look vastly different between photos, this is due to the photography conditions and any post-photography effects that have sometimes been implemented for visual effect.
A: It can be affected by one or more of the following:
- Lighting - This has a HUGE effect on the appearance of skin tone - The exact same skin tone photographed in a professional studio, can look significantly different under factory lighting.
- Filters - All kinds of filters can be used, some can be more subtle than others.
- Monitors - Types of monitor used to view photographs.
- Cameras - Type of camera used during photography.
- Vendors - Different vendors can refer to skin tones by different names.*

Eye colour:
The eyes of a sex doll are not fixed permanently and can be removed/changed at any point.
A change of eye colour can significantly change the whole look of your doll.
Can't decide which eye colour you like best? Why not add an extra set of eyes so you can switch between the two colours any time you like? Many customers purchase extra sets to switch between looks depending on mood or photography.

Wig or Implanted Hair:
As you might have guessed, dolls don't grow their own hair, they have wigs or implanted synthetic or human hair. There are a huge amount of wigs to choose from.
Each manufacturer has a specific selection of wigs that they offer.
The wigs available have been chosen by the manufacturer, the selection is designed to give you a wide variety of styles to choose from. 
Want the wig in the photos, but can't see the option?
Select: Same as photo
We offer a "Same as photo" option so our customers can request the wig in the photos.
An example of when you might select this option would be with Charlotte. Charlotte is displayed with curly red hair, yet there is no option for curly red hair in the wig options. In this instance, select "Same as photo".
Some manufacturers offer implanted hair for an extra fee. This will typically show up under the 'Custom Made' option. Other than WM Doll, it is normally only available in silicone heads. The implanted hair can be made from either synthetic or human fibres, and is brand dependent for availability and head compatibility. Upgrades such as soft head may not be compatible, whereas medium firmness (such as ROS heads) and hard heads are usually compatible.
Areola size:
The areola is the circular area surrounding the nipples.
The size refers to the diameter of the areola.
The areola is hand finished (stained by hand using TPE stain, or painted in the case of silicone) by the workshop artists and can be made to any size (within reason). However, the dolls often have a textured area pre-moulded into the doll's body which can restrict the recommended areola sizes, these textured areas are usually visible in the doll's photos. Of course, it is possible to paint the doll's areola to any size larger than the textured area, but it's not necessarily recommended...
If you are unsure about this option, we recommend selecting the "Same as photo" option. Our workshop artists will always try to make the areola size look as realistic as possible to ensure good doll aesthetics.
Areola colour:
The areola is the circular area surrounding the nipples.
The areola colour is hand finished (stained by hand using TPE stain) by the workshop artists and can be made any colour. Generally, we recommend making the areola and labia colour the same or similar.
If in doubt, we recommend selecting the "Same as photo" option. Our workshop artists will always try to make the areola look as realistic as possible to ensure good doll aesthetics. You cannot change the physical nipple style/shape.
Vagina option:
The vagina option is available in two options: Fixed or Insert.
- The fixed vagina is a built-in-vagina, permanently moulded into the doll's body.
- The insert vagina option looks similar, but the internal opening is slightly wider to accommodate a removable "sleeve" insert, designed to ease the cleaning process.
Here are some pros and cons for both options so you can make up your own mind.
The Fixed Vagina (Permanent)
Pros
- The fixed vagina is more realistic aesthetically.
- It is more realistic to the touch. (the inside "chamber" is the same on both)
- It can be easier to use if you’re not “fully erect”.
- You can control how tight the vagina is by opening the legs.
- You can place your doll sitting over a container or bucket to wash.
- You can have a shower with the doll using a shower hose to clean.
Cons
- It can be cumbersome to clean the doll if your doll is large, heavy or non-standing.
- If you are ever going to resell the doll, it is less appealing to buyers.
The Vagina Insert (Removable)
Pros
- You can remove the insert from the doll for easy cleaning.
- The vagina cavity is suitable for use with a penis adapter.
- You can have a second insert ready while the other is drying.
- You can purchase different size inserts.
- You can replace the insert.
- It appears the same as the fixed vagina on the outside.
Cons
- The insert needs powder to insert.
- It can be annoying to insert when lubricated.
- It feels less realistic to the touch on the inside.
- There can be additional movement.

Well, there you have it, folks. We think it comes down to personal preference and to individual technique when it comes to cleaning.. the choice is yours.
Breast:
Many (but not all) of the dolls available offer the choice of solid, hollow, or gel breast.
What's the difference?
Solid breasts are more dense and more firm, they do not jiggle or bounce as much as the other options. They are often considered more durable, and they are not prone to deflation (which, it should be noted, is repairable)
Hollow breasts are lighter and softer than solid, however they do have a hollow sound when slapping them, and a hollow feeling when squeezing them. They can be prone to deflation, which is quickly repairable with a syringe full of air
Gel breasts are more natural in feeling, in softness, and in movement. As they are heavier, they will tend to hang more naturally on the chest. As silicone dolls are always made with gel by default, choosing gel will not change the look of your doll. However in the case of TPE dolls, older dolls with larger breasts are often shown with the hollow option, so choosing gel may be too heavy, or impact how they look on the body.
As a general rule, if you do not select breast type,
- TPE Doll's with a breast size lower than C cup are typically made with a solid breast (Unless otherwise requested).
- TPE Doll's with a breast size higher than C cup are typically made with a hollow or gel breast (Unless otherwise requested).
- Silicone dolls are typically made with gel breasts by default
Labia colour:
The labia is hand coloured to your requirements. All manufacturers offer basic colouring and definition, some manufacturers (such as Irontech) offer ultra-realistic artistic definition and detail in the naughty parts upon request.
Generally, we recommend colouring the labia the same as the areola colour, and if in doubt, we recommend selecting "Same as photo" on both to ensure the workshop artists colour the naughty bits just like the glamour shots, which is debatably the doll at her best...
Pubic Hair:
We all know what pubic hair is, some of us love it, some of us can't stand the stuff...
Either way, pubic hair is available in multiple styles and colours. Some manufacturers (like Irontech) plug the hair into the doll's skin to give it a more realistic look and feel. Others simply glue the hair onto the surface of the doll's skin. Check with us before purchase if you are concerned. We can order it as a patch you can glue on yourself - well not on you, on the doll, silly!
Fingernail + Toenail Colour:
Like real fingernails + toenails, they can be painted. There's not a lot more to explain about nail colour, other than - you can choose the colour.
Tip: If you can't make your mind up about fingernail and toenail colours, we would recommend getting natural fingernails. Why? Because you can always paint them at a later date, just like real fingernails!
Tip 2: Fingernails and nails are attached with a weak glue, so they can be removed and changed if needed. You can fix them back on with some fake/acrylic nail glue or eyelash glue from Amazon
Feet:
In TPE dolls, the feet are available in two options: Standing or Non-Standing. The standing option in TPE includes 3 visible bolts as shown above.
In silicone dolls, there is a third option for many models: Standing Without Bolts
Standing feet and Standing Without Bolts are by far the most popular foot option with our sex dolls, as you may have guessed, the standing foot option enables the doll to stand upright.
With the traditional Standing Feet option, there are three (very small) metal bolt heads that protrude slightly from the bottom of the foot to enable the doll to stand unassisted. In our opinion, this small visual sacrifice is worth it, you can stand your doll for long periods of time for photography, intimacy or storage.
With the Standing Without Bolts option on modern silicone dolls, the material below the ankle is made with a harder setting silicone. It is still soft enough to squeeze and adjust the ankle and toe joints (if present), but it is firm enough to support the doll's weight for up to 15-20 minutes at a time. If you are intending to store your doll in a standing position, or need her to stand for longer periods for display or photography, it is best to choose Standing Feet with bolts.
Standing feet are great for:
- Photography
- Storing your doll upright in the house (with bolts option)
- Assisting with dressing your doll.
- Assisting with cleaning your doll.
- Assisting with moving from one place to another.
- And actually standing (in flat shoes)
- People with a shoe fetish who want their doll to stand in shoes. (*always use support when in heels*)
- Having sex whilst standing
Standing feet are not great for:
- People with a foot fetish (bolts are visible on the bottom of feet)
- Foot Flexibility (cannot move upward or side to side - only down)
Standing feet Without Bolts are great for:
- People who only need their doll to stand for less than half an hour at a time
- Foot lovers who want to see the natural beauty of the feet without the bolts being visible
- People that might otherwise have selected non-standing, but want a more durable foot

UPGRADES & ACCESSORIES
Moving Shoulders / Shrugging shoulders:
- Shrugging shoulders are a skeletal upgrade that gives the shoulders a wider range of motion, most noticeably - The up & down / shrugging motion, hence the name- shrugging shoulders.
- This upgrade does not necessarily enhance the sexual experience but is particularly popular for individuals that expect to be using their doll in photo-shoots.
- It is generally regarded that dolls with shrugging shoulders can pose in slightly more "realistic" positions for photographs.
Moving Shoulders is an upgrade that can be added before you "ADD TO CART". Look for the "Skeleton upgrade" option under "View Upgrades & Accessories".
EVO skeleton:
The EVO skeleton is a term used by various manufacturers.
EVO skeleton is the name given to the skeleton upgrade that enables the doll to shrug and to squat. Please see below.
The EVO skeleton is an upgrade that can be added before you "ADD TO CART". Look for the "EVO skeleton" option under "View Upgrades & Accessories".
Typically it will be a combination upgrade that allows for double jointed knees and double jointed elbows, as well as the shoulder shrug joint. The double jointed knees allows for deeper squatting as shown below:
Enhanced mouth:
Not to be confused with the more modern option ROS (Real Oral Structure), which features a movable jaw, teeth and tongue; the more traditional option 'enhanced mouth' is available on most TPE dolls and many silicone dolls. It is specifically designed for oral sex enhancement rather than kissing. It has a ridged inner mouth similar to the standard mouth and a small tongue set quite back from the lips. The enhanced mouth provides a realistic look to your doll's mouth, often even including the uvula (the part that hangs down in the back of your throat). The enhanced mouth makes oral sex with your doll even more amazing than it already is with the standard mouth. If you're buying it for kissing, you may be disappointed, if you're buying it for oral sex, you'll definitely be blown....away. It is often the only option available for TPE heads, as ROS is mainly available in silicone.
