On The Horizon: The Future of The Zelex Inspiration Series

Zelex's SLE series has taken the world by storm. From the moment of launch they raced up the charts as one of the most popular series of in stock sex dolls of all time. In fact, they became one of the biggest sellers of any brand or series globally of all time. The included extras, such as ROS mouth, articulated fingers, realistic body painting and texture, soft skin, gel breasts, gel butt, hard feet, hard hands, and the better movement of the EXP skeleton - all for one incredibly low price for silicone - put it just above premium TPE dolls and effectively continued a process Zelex had begun with the Inspiration series of re-shaping the market. 

 

Firstly, the differences:

 

Inspiration series: this is Zelex's flagship custom made product. They are exclusively moulded from real women, which is why the fantasy proportions (such as large breasts and large butts) are not present in this series. When we attended the Zelex factory we were able to see footage of and schedules for Korean and Japanese actresses, models and pornstars who would be flown in for a 2-3 day stint. They would have wax moulds made of their whole body, picking up fine details of the skin, as well as the important proportions of the breast, hips and waist. This series was first launched a few years ago with the first instances of the movable jaw and ROS heads that kicked off a revolution in the industry.

SLE series: this is Zelex's stock series, they are fantasy bodies rather than real scans of women. They concentrate on fantasy-type proportions such as super large breasts and thighs and butt, to give the customer what they often want in a doll - curvy idealistic bodies. Whilst they are called SLE, which is a bit confusing, the SLE are a platinum silicone product not a TPE product nor a TPE-Silicone blend.

Fusion series: This is Zelex's new custom made AIO series or seamless head series. They do not have a removable head. They are customizable like the Inspiration series, besides the head which cannot be changed of course. A defining feature of this series is that they have a much deeper throat than a normal doll (an oral cavity of 18cm! which is about 50% deeper than a normal doll), a softer body owing to a softer foam core, and the super realistic physical skin texture due to also being moulded from real women like the Inspiration series.

Ever since the launch of the Inspiration series, Zelex had been dangling silicone in front of buyer's eyes at a cost just above what they were used to paying for premium custom made TPE dolls. SLE closed the gap even further. The shift in buyer sentiment and behaviour was noticeable for us - more of our clients began asking about silicone than ever before. More had heard the pros of silicone dolls and started asking about the differences with TPE. Sales of the SLE series have been strong since launch. 

 

But then with the success of the SLE, where did that leave the Zelex Inspiration series? 

 

When the Inspiration series launched, it was one of the most popular silicone series ever due to price, value and new features, however once the SLE landed, sales started to quickly divert into the SLE series. A lot of customers who wanted to buy a Zelex but were after larger breasts and curvy hips and butts found exactly what they wanted in the SLE series. SLE cannibalized the Inspiration market to a degree, as well as bringing in new buyers that may not have bought a Zelex before. 

 

The Inspiration series had seen a long time since a refresh. Until now. 

 

I was a bit saddened to see the Inspiration series, which had been such a shakeup to the industry back in 2022, languishing a bit. There didn't seem to be any new models for a long time as focus had shifted to SLE. In the interim we pushed to release our own exclusive Zelex model, the 162cm G cup, due to the feedback we had received from buyers that they wanted curvier Zelex models. Over the last few months we got a series of fairly quick succession notifications. Firstly V2 gel butt was released, then we were asked to retire a number of older models from our website (such as the original 165, the 155 and 172cm models - these were not based on real scans of women, so they retired these to focus on the Inspiration range being real women), and then finally we were informed there would be a version 2 or V2 Inspiration upgrade. 

This revision brought with it a few important extras. Physical texturing, which a lot of brands are referring to as "RST" or Realistic Skin Texture, better makeup/painting for the body, extra soft vagina and anus and, a new hand skeleton which allowed for better finger posing.

The use of "V2" made it sound like it was a different version, but the standard or now 'v1', was not retired. Actually v1 and v2 is more like a 'standard' and 'deluxe' package, and I think it is more appropriate to think of it in that sense. At least for now during this transition phase. New models are hitting the market which are only v2 now, and they will not have the v1 option.

At the time of writing, the brand new 162cm Zelex inspiration has just been released this week. It comes with the V2 items as part of its default configuration, so it is effectively a V2 model out of the box. There is no V1 available for this model, so I expect that the other models listed above will come the same way. Especially given that the Fusion series works this way. The price as they enter the market is the price of a standard Inspiration series doll with the V2 upgrade, Whether they will keep the situation with the original products and allow people to take the V1 at a lower price, or whether this situation will be retired with a price jump, I am not sure. I would hope that they keep the standard option for buyers on a budget.

So that's a wrap! We finally have the answer on why the Inspiration and Fusion series do not have large breasts and butt. It comes down to availability of actresses and models. Zelex said that if we get any good suggestions to let them know and they'll investigate. The SLE torso with hands has dropped price from $990 USD per unit with head to $900. A version without head will be launching soon for buyers who want it (might be good for those who want a portable version of their full size SLE!) for just $790, great value! Since it is M16 compatible you could buy the torso for your silicone heads from other brands - just be aware there would be some colour differences!
